Where is found?
In all tropical forested regions of America.


Soils
Mimosa pudica requires soils that can retain enough water, to stay moist, while providing good aeration and drainage. Thus, root rot caused in highly compact soils is avoided.
Climate
It requires temperatures in the range of 16 to 30 ͒ C to germinate, and have optimal growth. Also, it constantly needs bright light.

The seeds are 3 to 3.2 cm long and 2.5 to 3 cm wide, with thickness of 1 to 1.2 mm. In addition, each seed is lenticular, and they have ochre-colored testa, which is smooth or porous.

Its type of cultivation is by means of seeds.

Where is found?
In the case of Panama, its growth occurs in tropical humid forests.
These forests are present on both the Atlantic and Pacific side of the country, specifically in the provinces of Panama, Colón, Coclé, Darién, Chiriquí, Veraguas, Bocas del Toro, Los Santos.

This plant grows around crops (lemon, orange, guando, etc.) and in livestock areas and as shrubs in urban areas.
