Properties

 It is an annual or perennial plant characterized by touch-sensitive compound leaves. In turn, it is a plant native to tropical America with a pantropical distribution.

It is a vine herb, prostrate, and with cylindrical stems. Similarly, it is a plant that develops compound leaves with four pinnas, which can each contain between 12 and 25 pairs of leaflets. The leaves of this plant are closed to the touch, due to a nostic movement, known as tigmonastia.

Other names

Caicove del Río de la Plata, close-close yourself, maiden, sleepyhead, sleeper, virgin kills, virgin kills, look at me and don't touch me, moriviva, moriviví Dominican, sensitive, shameful, common mimosa yerba.

Pest and diseases

Typical diseases of pubic mimosa is root rot and fungal diseases, due to poor drainage or too rainy weather. The most common pests that usually affect it are aphids and Cochineal.
